The Heart-Brain Connection

For most part our society thrives on labels, which tend to act as a reaffirmation to the illusion of separation. Most of us were taught in school that the heart is constantly responding to “orders” sent by the brain in the form of neural signals. We often use phrases such as “think from the head” and “feel from the heart” which implies that the brain does all the logical thinking and our heart is where we respond from emotionally. The logical mind often takes control over the best of us and very rarely do we understand the power we hold within our hearts.

heart-fieldIt is not as commonly known that the heart actually sends far more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart! The Human Heart is now documented as the strongest generator of both electrical and magnetic fields in the body.  While the brain does have an electrical & a magnetic field, they are both relatively weak compared to the Heart. The Heart is about 100,000 times stronger electrically & up to 5,000 times stronger magnetically than the brain. Moreover, these heart signals have a significant effect on brain function – influencing emotional processing as well as higher cognitive faculties such as attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving. In other words, not only does the heart respond to the brain, but the brain continuously responds to the heart.

This is important, because the physical world – as we know it – is made of those 2 fields: electrical & magnetic fields of Energy. Physics now tells us that if we can change either the magnetic field or the electrical field of the atom, we literally change that atom and its elements within our body and this world. The Human Heart is designed to do both.

HeartMath research has demonstrated that different patterns of heart rhythm (which accompany different emotional states) have distinct effects on cognitive and emotional function. During stress and negative emotions, when the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered, the corresponding pattern of neural signals traveling from the heart to the brain inhibits higher cognitive functions. This limits our ability to think clearly, remember, learn, reason, and make effective decisions. (This helps explain why we may often act impulsively and unwisely when we’re under stress.) The heart’s input to the brain during stressful or negative emotions also has a profound effect on the brain’s emotional processes—actually serving to reinforce the emotional experience of stress.

In contrast, the more ordered and stable pattern of the heart’s input to the brain during positive emotional states has the opposite effect—it facilitates cognitive function and reinforces positive feelings, emotional stability and perceptual clarity. This means that learning to generate increased heart rhythm coherence by sustaining positive emotions not only benefits the entire body, but also profoundly affects how we perceive, think, feel, and perform.

As the heart rhythms become more coherent (smooth and ordered), it can help release the emotional stress and balance affect, which often results in the reduction of traumatic stress symptoms such as flashbacks, sleep disturbances, hyper arousal and concentration problems.

How to Find Love & Peace when You are Experiencing Negative Emotions (Stress, Pain, Regret)

We have all hurt others and used our power in a way that goes against the universal laws of loving creation. We were “learning” through karma, pain and difficulty and had a lower state of consciousness at the time. We simply did not know any better. Jesus’s quote of “Forgive them father, they know not what they do” is very relevant, because we truly did not know what we were doing. We were stuck in duality with a very low state of consciousness simply reacting from our own source of inner pain and spreading it to everyone we came into contact with.

However, when we begin to awaken we begin to “SEE” our behavioral patterns. This is part of the spiritual eye opening, and the chakra system expanded. “For once we were blind but now we see”. This is a very positive sign of your soul’s ascension! You are starting to see your behavioral patterns and willing to accept responsibility for your life and the way you treat others. This is huge ~ give yourself a big hug for having the courage to face your self and the life you have created. As you face God/Goddess, you face the self! During this time period it is very common to be filled with guilt. Guilt does have value, in that it teaches us “how not to be”. Guilt is a very low vibrational feeling… it does not feel good so it is imperative for you to feel your guilt, but at the same time work on forgiveness of the self. Please do not hold onto your guilt, it will hold you back from your soul’s ascension.

Honor your self and your soul’s evolution…negative soul lessons are just as valid as positive ones… and remember, every soul interaction has a lesson for BOTH souls involved. In fact, it is oftentimes our pain that is the catalyst for transformation. Most people who choose to ascend go through so much pain in their lives they finally decide ~ “I have had enough! I am going to choose something different… I am ready to raise my consciousness and grow myself ~ I want to learn my lessons through LOVE now.” However, in order to move beyond our karmic lessons we will need to clean up our soul, and heal the negative energies within us that wanted to create painful circumstances for ourself and others. Once negative energy and karma has been created within our being, it doesn’t just go away. We will have to raise the negative energy to a higher vibration… this is oftentimes called soul alchemy, where we turn our darkness (lead) into the light (gold) of the christ/buddhic consciousness. Unfortunately, as we alchemicalize the soul we may go through a “dark night of the soul” where all our negativity begins to rise to the surface. This is a very uncomfortable time period, where the old negative ego begins to be transformed by the higher self. The ego feels like it is dying… it feels lost, confused, uncertain, doubtful and is full of pain from its negative creations.

During this time period you must commit to your transformation through positive thinking, the spiritual practice of meditation, PRAYER, self forgiveness and self love ~ fully allowing your self to surrender to your higher soul. Self love and forgiveness are imperative to your transformation, and it will require great EFFORT!

Daily meditation will help you tap into the loving vibrations within your self, and also looking your self in the mirror and telling your self how much you love your self. Look in your EYES repeating “I Love You”, I Love You, I Love You.” This may be hard in the beginning, you will cringe and you will not want to look in your eyes…..but as you do this exercise, you will begin to soften. You will eventually return your self to the LOVE that you truly are…..you just need to dissolve all the static interference in your energy field that blocks you from fully tapping into your truth.

In addition, energy work through reiki, dna theta healing and pranic healing will help you clear the blocks. Energy healers are invaluable, and they are located all over the world. Do a computer search and find one you resonate with. Many are also able to do “distant healing” and it is just as powerful as an in person session. Yoga, Running, Fast walking or any kind of exercise also helps us move energy in the energy field so we can release the painful blocks that are stuck.
